Wren App Reviews
Love Wren!
Replaces my other Mac Twitter apps--beautifully designed app!
This is the best piece of software Ive ever used. This has definitely upped my productivity. However, please make it so I can run this in the background and not have it show up in the dock! It be absolutely perfect!
This is the best piece of software. Does one thing, and does it very well. The attention to detail is truly mac worthy from the icon down to the typography. Whenever I am going to tweet, I click this icon.
This app is not a Twitter client as implied. Its a twitter post writer. What can be more of a waste than an app that only lets you post to Twitter. Sheesh.
I have been looking for an app like this for a while now. This is a good start but could be improved by: - Making the app run in the menu bar and hiding the active dock icon - Allowing updates to Facebook in addition to Twitter Adding these two items would make this pretty much perfect.
This application is wonderful! I love how quickly it allows me to tweet once Ive setup a keyboard shortcut. There are a few problems though: 1) Cant tweet pictures. This is the #1 problem which prevents me from using the app more. (No geo either, but I can deal with that) 2) Clicking on the avatar at the bottom of the window to switch accounts is unintuitive. I only discovered this feature by accident many months after downloading the app. Also, the area next to the avatar which displays the accounts latest tweet is useless. Its very often incorrect as it does not display the most recent tweet.. Id rather it be correct all the time or see it removed from the app. 3) Only 3 drafts can be saved. While I appreciate limits, I dont like this one very much. Id love to save at least a few more, if not as many as I want. Fix #1 and this is a 5 star app. Fix #2/#3 and this app is world-class.
Would be perfect if there was a "Send to Wren" bookmarklet or an accompanying Firefox or Chrome extension that would shorten the link of the page Im on and send that and the page title to Wren for editing.
Yes, I should have found out more before buying this, but I assumed that this, a commercial desktop twitter app, would do more than simply send plain-text tweets. No displaying of the feed, no respond ability, no DM checking, no photo posts… Really, to do Twitter right with this, you must have the Twitter app or Twitter website up in tandem, and then, whats the advantage of a "fast post" app like this, besides fast user switching? Twitter.app does that just fine, and has all the other features youd expect, for all the hate it gets. I may be the wrong demo for an app that does less than the most basic iOS Twitter app ("but so quickly!" I hear you shout). Then again, as a multi-account Twitter user, I cant think of a person this app could be more targeted toward. It does look nice, and certainly does its feature set well, hence the four stars… But its a little like pitching a $5 text editor that can only show you the word youve just typed. "Oh, to see the whole doc, open it in Textmate. See how this speeds up your workflow?"
This app is exactly what I needed. At times, I wanted to write a tweet, but hated getting distracted by others tweets in the process. This way I can write a tweet, save a tweet and send a tweet without the risk of distraction. Kevin, by the way, is a really nice guy. I had an issue with Wren, and he helped me out wonderfully. Cheers!
Crashing after the update! (Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5)
Love it with five stars before the update. fix this please!
wren = cash money millionaire!!!!! Love tweeting while working but dont love getting lost in the web abyss when trying to focus. Stupid friends that work at BuzzFeed. I shall defeat you with wren!!!!! Download if you enjoy life and your time.
So much simple, so much elegant
The addition of Buffer support is really useful, but App.net support would be killer.
I love the premise of this app. The UI is also solid. However, why limit users to only three drafts?! Why have a limit at all? As it is, this isn’t that useful. Kind of a waste of $5.
Beyond Pathetic
Wait, this app was actually updated recently? Simply put, this app is unusable. Fix it, because it is absolutley worthless.
Great little app for quick Tweets!
Wren is a great little app for quick tweets. And Kevin, one of the developers, is very helpful! I couldn’t be happier with this purchase!
Only 3 drafts? I was looking for something like this for awhile for my Mac and was thrilled when I found out about Wren...but not-so-thrilled when I found out I could only keep 3 drafts. Had I dug deeper prior to purchasing, this would’ve been the deal breaker. Please make it unlimited; the ideas don’t just cut-off at 3. (I have over 500 in my Drafts app)
